Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed unwavering support for Pakistan’s armed forces following their decisive response to India’s missile attacks, which have significantly heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. The President convened a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Saturday with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar to assess the evolving situation and deliberate over Pakistan’s retaliatory measures under *Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos*.

During the meeting, President Zardari commended the military for its “exceptional professionalism and bravery” in delivering what he termed a “befitting response” to India’s unprovoked aggression. He stressed that while Pakistan remains a peace-loving nation, it was compelled to act in self-defense following repeated provocations from across the border. Reaffirming the nation’s solidarity with its armed forces, Zardari vowed that Pakistan would safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity at any cost.

The President highlighted that despite exercising significant restraint, Pakistan had been left with no option but to take decisive action due to India’s persistent hostilities. The retaliatory strikes, which commenced early Saturday, precisely targeted bases allegedly used by India to launch attacks on Pakistani civilians and places of worship. The operation also involved coordinated strikes on multiple strategic locations to neutralize further threats.

In a symbolic move, Pakistan deployed its *Al-Fatah* missile during the operation, dedicating its use to the innocent children martyred in recent cross-border attacks by Indian forces. Pakistani officials emphasized that the nation would not forget the sacrifices of these young lives lost in the conflict, reinforcing their resolve to defend the country’s sovereignty against any aggression. The situation remains tense as both countries continue to exchange hostilities, raising concerns over further escalation in the region
