Federal Minister for Law Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Minister for Planning Professor Ahsan Iqbal were also present during the meeting.
The Prime Minister took the President into confidence regarding the decision to promote General Syed Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal.
President Zardari stated that under the leadership of General Syed Asim Munir, the armed forces successfully defended the motherland. He emphasized that General Munir deserved the promotion to Field Marshal for effectively countering Indian aggression, ensuring the nation’s successful defense, and demonstrating exceptional military strategy.
During the meeting, the leadership of the armed forces and the Pakistan military were commended for their effective response to Indian attacks.
