The Punjab government has declared an early summer vacation for all schools across the province, beginning on **May 28**, in response to the ongoing intense heatwave. The decision was announced by Punjab Education Minister **Rana Sikandar Hayat**, who emphasized the need to prioritize student safety during the extreme weather conditions.  

In an official statement released by the education ministry, revised school timings were also introduced to minimize heat exposure. Starting **May 21**, schools will operate from **7:30 AM to 11:30 AM** until the summer break commences. Originally scheduled for **June 1**, the vacation was preponed due to the escalating temperatures affecting Punjab and other parts of the country.  

Minister Hayat stated that consultations had been ongoing regarding the adjustment of the academic calendar, with authorities striving to balance health concerns and educational requirements. He assured that measures were being taken to mitigate any potential academic disruptions caused by the early closure of schools.  

Additionally, the minister highlighted that relevant departments have issued safety guidelines to help students cope with the extreme heat. Parents and school administrations have been urged to ensure these precautions are followed to safeguard children from heat-related health risks. 

This decision reflects the provincial government's proactive approach to addressing climate challenges while maintaining a focus on student welfare. Further updates regarding school schedules will be communicated as necessary, depending on weather conditions.
