President Zardari and Punjab Governor Hold Key Meeting with PPP Attock Leaders to Bolster Political Unity
Lahore : A significant meeting took place at the Governor House Lahore between President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Attock chapter’s leadership and ticket-holders, led by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan. Addressing the gathering, President Zardari emphasized that the survival of all political parties is intrinsically linked to the survival of Pakistan. Reflecting on the Pak-India tensions, he stated that the PPP, alongside all political factions, stood united with the armed forces, forcing India to face a resounding defeat.
The President further highlighted that the PPP has always made sacrifices for the nation and democracy, reiterating that the party represents workers, laborers, government employees, and the oppressed classes. Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, in his remarks, expressed confidence that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, backed by a public mandate, would become the country’s next young prime minister.
President Zardari noted that the PPP has regained momentum and become increasingly active in Punjab. During the meeting, the Attock chapter extended an invitation to the President for a visit to the district, which he acknowledged positively. The gathering is being hailed as a crucial step toward fostering political harmony and strengthening the PPP’s grassroots politics.
