Peshawar, May 26, 2025 — Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the attack on the PPP rally held in Peshawar as part of the “Save the Province Movement.” He accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government of blocking peaceful protest in a failed attempt to conceal its rampant corruption.

In a statement, Bilawal said, “The use of tear gas against peaceful political workers protesting lawlessness and unemployment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is highly regrettable.”

The PPP Chairman further criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, stating, “By unleashing violence on unarmed political activists, the PTI regime has shown nothing but cowardice and authoritarianism.” He emphasized that the PPP is not afraid of such “cheap tactics” and will continue to hold the “corrupt and incompetent” KP government accountable.

Bilawal added, “The Save the Province Movement has now become the voice of every citizen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Our workers are fully prepared to confront the corrupt government in the province.”

He also said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have now seen the “true fascist face” of the PTI’s provincial government.

The PPP has announced plans to expand its movement across the province, continuing its campaign against corruption, unemployment, and the breakdown of law and order.
