LAHORE( May 26, 2025) — Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sania Kamran has strongly condemned the recent attack on a PPP rally held in Peshawar under the banner of the “Save the Province Movement.” She criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government for trying to stifle peaceful demonstrations in what she called “a desperate attempt to hide its deep-rooted corruption.”

Sania Kamran particularly condemned the use of tear gas and shelling against women, children, and peaceful marchers, calling it a “shameful and inhumane act that has no place in a democratic society.” She said, “Targeting unarmed women and children during a political rally reflects the moral and administrative collapse of the PTI-led provincial government.”

In a pointed jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sania Kamran remarked, “Those who once claimed to be champions of peaceful protest are now revealing their true fascist faces.” She added that the hypocrisy of PTI stands fully exposed before the people of Pakistan.

In her broader statement, Kamran said, “It is deeply disturbing to see tear gas and brute force being used against peaceful political workers who were simply raising their voices against lawlessness and rising unemployment in the province.”

She accused the PTI government of resorting to violence instead of dialogue, stating, “This is not governance—it’s a display of sheer cowardice and dictatorship. The KP government is using oppressive tactics because it fears the rising public awareness.”

Reaffirming the PPP's stance, she declared, “We will not be intimidated by these underhanded methods. Our movement is gaining strength every day, and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are standing with us.”

Sania Kamran emphasized that the “Save the Province Movement” now reflects the sentiments of the common citizen across KP. “Our party workers are ready and resilient. We will face this corrupt regime head-on and continue to expose its failures,” she asserted.

She concluded by saying that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have now seen “the true authoritarian face of the PTI-led provincial government” and reaffirmed PPP’s commitment to intensify its campaign for justice, transparency, and economic stability throughout the province.
