ECP Removes Punjab CM's Flex Banner in PP-52 Sialkot for Violating Code of Conduct
PPP Appreciates Action, Calls for Free and FairBy-Elections
Lahore (Correspondent) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken immediate action in PP-52 Sialkot by removing a large flex banner featuring the Punjab Chief Minister for violating the electoral code of conduct. The decision came after the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) filed a complaint against the breach of election rules.
Syed Hasan Murtaza, General Secretary of PPP Central Punjab, commended the ECP’s prompt response, stating that ensuring transparent, fair, and impartial elections in PP-52 is the commission’s fundamental responsibility. He emphasized that all political parties must be given equal opportunities in the upcoming June 1 by-elections, and maintaining law and order should be a top priority.
Murtaza further urged the ECP to take strict action against any violations during the election campaign to ensure fair public representation. Other political parties have also welcomed the move, stressing the importance of free and transparent elections for democracy.
