Lahore: Hassan Murtaza, General Secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Punjab, held a meeting with Mehran Mohed Far, the Iranian Consul General in Lahore. Former MPA Makhdoom Usman and Hussain Tirmizi were also present during the discussion. The leaders engaged in a detailed exchange of views on Pak-Iran bilateral relations and the current political situation in the region.  
 
Hasan Murtaza warmly welcomed Iran's decision to keep its borders open 24 hours for pilgrims during Arbaeen, calling it a significant step towards strengthening ties between the two nations. He also appreciated Iran's positive role in facilitating the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, stating that Tehran's efforts were crucial for regional peace.  
 
Murtaza urged the international community to take immediate and effective measures to stop Israeli aggression against innocent Palestinians in Gaza. He emphasized that lasting peace in the region requires friendly relations with all neighboring countries, reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to peaceful coexistence.  
 
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
