Islamabad: Pakistan president Senate, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilni, held an important meeting with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meerdov to discuss the way to strengthen bilateral conditions and continue shared regional goals.

 

During the meeting, Chairman Gilni appreciated the warm hospitality expanded by the Turkmen side and confirmed Pakistan's strong support for Foreign Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. He emphasized the importance of elaborating political, trade and economic involvement between two brother -I -IR -country.

Chairman Gilni emphasizes the important need to increase bilateral trade, and advocated more cooperation in larger areas, emphasizing the ability of regional connection to promote mutual prosperity. He particularly encouraged Turkmenistan to shop and connect to use Pakistan's strategic Gwadar and Karachi ports.

 

Both sides discussed detailed discussion about major regional projects including Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (Tapi) Gas Pipeline, Turkmenistan-AFGhanistan-Pakistan (Tap) Power Transmission Line and Regional Fiber Optic Initiative. Chairman Gilni repeated Pakistan's commitment for these initiatives, which are important for regional energy security and digital connection.
