Washington: A Pakistani diplomatic delegation, led by Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic meetings in the United States. The delegation held crucial discussions with U.S. Senators focused on promoting peace and stability in South Asia.

Senator Sherry Rehman, speaking about the meetings, stated that there was a comprehensive exchange on the Indus Waters Treaty and the Kashmir issue. She emphasized that Pakistan desires peace but will respond firmly to any provocation.

Expressing concern over India’s actions, Sherry Rehman said India is attempting to impose a new and irresponsible norm in the region, which should raise global concerns. She stressed that while India seems inclined toward war, Pakistan remains committed to peace.

She further highlighted the need for a joint mechanism to combat terrorism and stated that unverified allegations should not be allowed to become the basis for war.

Sherry Rehman added that the Pakistani delegation expressed gratitude for U.S. mediation in helping to de-escalate tensions and facilitate ceasefire efforts. The purpose of the meetings is to reduce regional tensions and support long-term peace initiatives.
