Bilawal House Karachi Surrender Valasi: KARACHI / ISLAMABAD / LAHORE, June 11: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged the nation to break the chains of child labour and give every child the right to dream, to learn, and to live with dignity, saying that “Pakistan’s future depends on what we invest in our children today.”
According to the press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP, in his message on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour being observed tomorrow (June 12), said that a child’s hands are meant to hold pencils, not tools of burden. “Each child forced into labour is a silent cry against our collective failure,” he noted. “Let us pledge to replace despair with opportunity, and child labour with child empowerment,” he added.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed the Pakistan Peoples Party’s unwavering commitment to child protection laws, universal education, and social welfare programs that uplift families and address the root causes of child labour. “The dream of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was a Pakistan where every child studies in school — not toils in factories or on the streets. We will carry forward their mission,” he said.
He also expressed pride in the fact that the first National Child Labour Survey was conducted in Pakistan during the government of Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in 1996, marking a historic step toward acknowledging and addressing the crisis of child labour in the country.
Concluding his message with an earnest appeal, Chairman Bilawal said: Let us raise our voices for the voiceless. Let us ensure that no child is robbed of their innocence and future. A just society protects its children — let that be our promise today.”
