Historic White House Invitation: General Asim Munir and Pakistan-US Diplomacy in Focus
Washington D.C. – Faraz Ullah Khan, Head of PPP Digital USA and former Focal Person to the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, highlighted a significant diplomatic milestone in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He shared that General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, is the first ever to receive an invitation from US President Donald Trump for a lunch meeting at the White House.
“This is unprecedented. President Trump has never extended such an invitation to any other military chief,” wrote Khan, who also serves as Deputy General Secretary for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Washington, D.C.
He also lauded the diplomatic acumen and leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “Thanks to the remarkable diplomatic success of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, today is a proud and historic day for Pakistan,” he added.
The invitation underscores the strengthening ties between Pakistan and the United States, with both nations seeking enhanced cooperation on military and strategic fronts. This historic occasion marks a significant leap in Pakistan's diplomatic engagement on the global stage.
