Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, has strongly refuted the speculations circulating on social media regarding President Asif Ali Zardari, declaring them baseless and misleading.

In a clear statement, Bukhari said, "President Asif Ali Zardari is the democratically elected head of state. Those fueling rumors clearly lack understanding of the Constitution and the law. This system cannot run without Zardari."

He emphasized that no government can form or function without the support of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). "If you try to minus PPP from the equation, the National Assembly cannot sustain any government," Bukhari warned.

Speaking on constitutional mechanisms, he noted that members of the assembly have the legal and constitutional authority to remove a prime minister or chief minister if they are failing to deliver according to the Constitution. "A vote of no confidence is a constitutional tool. If it caused instability, it wouldn’t exist in the Constitution," he added.

Bukhari stressed that political instability arises from unconstitutional removals or disruptive protest tactics, not from legal democratic procedures. "It's not the system that becomes unstable due to a no-confidence motion—it is weakened when rules are bypassed."

He also clarified that PPP is not joining the federal cabinet, but it played a vital role in ensuring parliamentary continuity by supporting the recent budget presented by the ruling PML-N. "Our support in the budget was to safeguard the functioning of Parliament and uphold the system," he stated.

Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Bukhari criticized the party’s unwillingness to engage in democratic dialogue. "PTI does not believe in negotiations or dialogue; they are merely pursuing their own desire for agitation."
