KARACHI: A meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Financial Matters was held to review and approve critical funding proposals related to development, welfare, and administrative priorities across Sindh.

In a significant move, the committee approved Rs. 248 million for the installation of water storage tanks and solar-powered pumping stations for the ex-Nara Canal area in Khipro, District Sanghar. The initiative aims to improve water accessibility and promote sustainable energy use in the region.

The committee also approved Rs. 141 million to clear outstanding dues of retired employees of the Sindh Seed Corporation, addressing long-standing concerns and fulfilling the government's commitment to public sector pensioners.

Additionally, the committee sanctioned Rs. 300 million to cover transportation and associated expenses for the deportation of illegally residing Afghan nationals, in line with the federal government’s policy to manage undocumented migration.

These approvals reflect the Sindh government’s ongoing efforts to support essential infrastructure, uphold employee welfare, and implement national directives effectively.
