BHITT SHAH / MATIARI / HYDERABAD / KARACHI, August 11: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, paying rich tribute to the great Sufi saint and poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA), said that Shah Latif’s timeless teachings continue to inspire not only the people of Sindh but all of Pakistan in overcoming even the most daunting challenges.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari added that resistance to Modi’s assault on the Indus River is not limited to Pakistan; the people of India too stand opposed to this aggression.
According to the press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP, while addressing the ceremony on the concluding day of the annual three-day Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, said that the tradition of visiting the shrine of Shah Latif and drawing inspiration from his teachings has been passed down in his family from generation to generation. He added that following the visits of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and President Asif Ali Zardari, he himself has been visiting the shrine of Hazrat Shah Latif for the past several years.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said it was a matter of pride that during the recent Pakistan–India war, every Pakistani fulfilled their responsibility with courage and unity. He said that although Pakistan did not initiate the conflict, it was the nation that brought it to a decisive conclusion. “It is a matter of pride that this war was not started by Pakistan, yet it was you who brought it to an end. The entire nation stood united, responding on every front with unwavering solidarity. Above all, the historic response of our armed forces — particularly our Air Force — will be remembered for generations,” he added.
Continuing his remarks, he said that alongside the military’s efforts, the way every citizen of Pakistan, the youth on social media, and our diplomats presented the nation’s message and truth before the world was commendable. He added that during the war, all political parties and forces, setting aside their differences, defended the motherland together.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that after the humiliating defeat in the recent war, India has launched yet another cowardly attack on Pakistan. He said that India has attacked Pakistan’s waters—Pakistan’s Indus—in a way that, in its time, is a historic assault. He said that the announcement made by the Indian government regarding the Indus Waters Treaty is the biggest attack on this river in the history of the region. He added that whenever such an attack has been made on the Indus River, the people of Sindh have always played a frontline role, being the first to raise their voices and step into the field to protect their river.

Chairman PPP said that the Indus River is not only the country’s sole major water resource but is also deeply linked to the entire history of its people. He said that the Indus Civilization is connected to this river, and when Modi announces an attack on the Indus River, it is an attack on our civilization, our history, and our culture. "I believe that not only the people of Pakistan (who are against Modi-regime’s decision), even the people of India are against their government’s decision."

Highlighting his diplomatic efforts, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he had presented Pakistan’s stance on the River Indus to various countries around the world, including the United States and Europe. “When this dispute began, I stood on the banks of this river and pledged to the people of this country that I would expose Modi before the world — and I can say that we have done exactly that.” He said the Indian government’s propaganda against Pakistan, which was based on lies, was met with a strong rebuttal, and Pakistan’s voice was raised across the globe against the threats to cut off the water supply to 200 million Pakistanis.

Addressing the public, the PPP Chairman said that he needed the people’s support and cooperation in the struggle to save the River Indus. “We must all unite to raise our voices and struggle against Modi’s brutality, against this attack, and against his intentions, so that we can put an end to this injustice as well.”

He said that the people of Pakistan have enough strength to confront the enemy and take back six rivers from them. He added that Pakistan always advocates peace, but if India still forces it into war, the nation will not back down. “If war is waged, then from the land of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai we will send a message to the Modi government that we do not retreat, we do not bow down — and if you dare think about launching such an attack on the Indus, then the people of every province of Pakistan will be ready to confront you.”
