PPP Sindh highlights development initiatives in information wing meeting
Addressing the meeting, Sharjeel Memon said that the PPP-led Sindh government was furthering its tradition of public service and development.
Senior Provincial Minister and Information Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sunday chaired a meeting of the party’s Information Wing in Hyderabad, where the progress of the provincial government’s initiatives in various sectors was reviewed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the meeting, Sharjeel Memon said that the PPP-led Sindh government was furthering its tradition of public service and development.
“The People’s Party has laid a network of development projects in every district of Sindh,” he said.
Highlighting achievements in the health sector, Memon noted that the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) had established a province-wide network where all heart treatments are provided free of cost.
He said the Sindh government was offering the world’s most advanced CyberKnife treatment completely free. Modern facilities, he added, had also been introduced at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) to ensure access to world-class treatment for the public.
In the education sector, he said that new schools, colleges, and universities were being established, while existing institutions were undergoing upgradation. Similarly, in the transport sector, projects such as the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, and Electric Bus Service were delivering modern and comfortable travel facilities.
Turning to energy, Memon underlined that wind power projects and the Thar Coal initiative were becoming key contributors to Sindh’s economic growth and energy security.
Recalling the government’s relief efforts during the floods, he stated that the Sindh government had provided tents, food, financial assistance, and medical treatment to affected families.
“Through the Sindh People’s Housing Foundation, 2.1 million houses are being built, while more than two hundred thousand families are receiving solar systems,” he added.
“All steps are being taken with transparency and with public interest at the forefront,” the minister said.
On the occasion, PPP leader MNA Sharmila Farooqi emphasised the importance of maintaining unity and dignity among party workers.
“PPP workers are a family, and our message should always be based on reason and decency,” she said.
Senator Nadeem Bhutto, Saif Qureshi, Sameeta Syed, Sadia Javed, Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh, as well as divisional and district information secretaries also attended the meeting.
