PPP Chiniot Meeting: Focus on Organizational Structure, Social Media

Suggestions for improvement included separating organizational and parliamentary roles, creating a grievance forum, strengthening sub-wings, discouraging "parachuters," and enhancing social media presence.

Chiniot: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chiniot organized a workers' meeting under the leadership of Syed Hassan Murtaza, Chairperson of the Provincial Task Committee for Organizational Affairs. The meeting, attended by numerous party officials and workers, focused on improving the performance of district, tehsil, and city-level organizations. Participants presented various suggestions to enhance the party's effectiveness and address organizational challenges.  

 

While addressing the meeting General Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab Syed Hassan Murtaza emphasized the importance of unity within the party, describing PPP as a family where mutual understanding is crucial. He warned that if the party's review process is neglected, it would negatively impact everyone, including himself. Murtaza praised the people of Chiniot for their efforts in challenging feudal dominance and expressed confidence that the party flag would once again fly high in the region.  

 

   He urged party members to set aside personal differences and prioritize the party's interests. Murtaza stressed that a weakened party would also weaken Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He called for an end to internal conflicts and the promotion of love and unity within the party.  

 

General Secretary of PPP Chiniot Syed Ali Zaidi gave a detailed briefing on the district organization. He revealed that PPP candidates in Chiniot were defeated due to irregularities related to Form 47.

 Zaidi stressed the need for the party to transcend factional and communal divides to achieve victory in the region.  

PPP leader Faisal Mir said that despite ongoing crises, the strength and determination of party workers reflect the resilience of democracy. He acknowledged that changes in leadership positions are a common occurrence in democratic parties.  

PPP ticket holder from Chinot Syed Kaleem Ali Amir pointed out that the alliance with the PML-N as the primary reason for PPP's struggles in Punjab. He questioned why, as government allies, PPP members were excluded from participating in developmental projects.  

 

Deputy General Secretary Usman Salim Malik, who moderated the meeting, highlighted the qualities of a true leader and worker. He stated that a leader should be capable of inspiring and creating at least 50 to 100 dedicated workers. Malik also criticized the party's past alliance with the PML-N, attributing it to significant damage to PPP's standing.  

   Aurangzeb Barki applauded the people of Chiniot for their strong electoral support, describing them as a model for the entire Punjab organization.  

 Chaudhry Aslam Gill commended the central Punjab organization for its outreach efforts across cities. 

The meeting proposed several measures to strengthen the party, including separating organizational and parliamentary positions. The meeting calls for establishing a formal forum to address workers' grievances. The participants also called for strengthening sub-wings through annual conventions. The meeting also called for discouraging the influence of "parachuters" within the party. They called for enhancing the party's social media presence.  

  

The meeting was attended by prominent party figures, including Usman Salim Malik, Chaudhry Aslam Gill, Faisal Mir, Aurangzeb Barki, Syed Inayat Ali Shah, Ayesha Nawaz Chaudhry, Arshad Jatt, Umar Sharif Bukhari, Kaleem Ali Amir, Ali Raza Zaidi, Dr. Fakhr-un-Nisa, Malik Khalil, Gulfam Javed, Fizan Malik, Syed Hassan Shah, Aftab Lashari, Farhat Parveen, Azma, Shahzad Masih, and other officials and workers.
