15 NEW FACTORIES ARE GOING TO BE SET UP IN QUAID-E-AZAM BUSINESS PARK, SHEIKHUPURA
Lahore: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has said that 15 new factories are going to be set up in the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, Sheikhupura in the next 2 months. On the directions of CM Punjab, a garment city is being built where the Chinese textile industry will move. Under the auspices of FIEDMC, 90 percent of the security wall of the industrial estate on an area of 9,000 acres in Faisalabad has been completed. The remaining work will be completed in the next 2 months.
He said, “We have stopped the real estate business, that is why, factories are now being set up here at a rapid pace. According to the policy, the plot of those who do not set up a factory within 2 years is being canceled.”
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, while addressing a press conference at the DGPR Office, strongly condemned the terrorist incident in the Jaffar Express train and termed it a regrettable incident. He said that the enemy does not want to see Pakistan progressing. Pakistan's armed forces and security agencies bravely crushed the evil intentions of the enemies of peace. Terrorists have no religion, they are enemies of humanity, Ulema and the entire nation have to unite and play their role to eliminate terrorism.
The Provincial Minister said that during my visit to to China with of CM Punjab, agreements were signed with several Chinese companies, China's VIVO Mobile Phone Company has started setting up a mobile phone manufacturing plant in Industrial Estate Faisalabad and this plant will start production in 2 years. Agreements have also been signed with Chinese companies regarding setting up a manufacturing plant for lithium batteries and solar panels in Punjab.
He highlighted, “TEVTA institutions were up-graded, courses were aligned with modern requirements, courses in German, Arabic, Korean and Japanese languages were started in TEVTA institutions in addition to Chinese. TEVTA's performance and financial audit for the last 6 years is being conducted.”
He said, “On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, 3-month IT short courses are being conducted free of cost and their international certification is also being done. Under the Chief Minister of Punjab Asan Business Finance and Chief Minister of Punjab Asan Business Card Scheme, interest-free loans are being given for the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses. Punjab's 23 small industrial estates have been digitized. A new industrial estate is being built on an area of 800 acres in Sialkot.”
He added, “China's ADM Group is installing 3,000 EV charging stations and another group has shown interest in setting up an assembling and manufacturing plant for EV charging.” The provincial minister said that until the issue of Kalabagh Dam is resolved, we should focus on building small dams on canals. Talks are underway with the Austrian government in this regard. Efforts are being made to bring in a value-added industry of pink salt near Khewra, the export of which will earn the country valuable foreign exchange.”
He said, “A trade delegation will be sent to Iran to increase trade with Iran. The dispute between the Punjab Meat Company and the Iranian government, due to which the meat company was closed, has been resolved. Now the agreement between the Punjab Meat Company and the Azerbaijani government has been made.”
He said that if politicians, government officials, ministers, members of the assembly and every individual in the society work hard, they can get rid of the IMF within a year. In response to a question, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that one should not be afraid of trade with neighboring countries. Pakistan wants to trade with India but the stubbornness of Indian Prime Minister Modi is an obstacle. He does not even send his sports teams here due to his hatred of Pakistan.
In response to another question, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has always pursued a policy of tolerance and nobility and we are moving forward with his politics of respect. We do not believe in the politics of revenge and have never taken any revenge against anyone.
In response to a question, the provincial minister said that the government before the caretaker government committed rampant corruption. Money was taken on transfer postings and university charters were sold for Rs. 150 million, and they must be accounted for.
An investment conference is being held in Canada, which a delegation from Punjab will attend, and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora will be part of this delegation. Secretary for Industries and Commerce Umar Masood and DG Punjab Board of Investment Dr. Sohail Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
