Privatization of Jinnah Hospital is against public interest: Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar

**Lahore:** Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, launched a sharp critique of the government’s policies, asserting that efforts to outsource Jinnah Hospital are against public interest. He criticized Chief Minister Punjab, stating that if the government lacks the capacity to manage Lahore’s hospitals, it should focus on public issues instead of "making TikTok." He condemned the privatization of educational institutions, calling it a destruction of the education system, and claimed the government’s actions led to a 33% rise in crime across Punjab during Ramadan.

Bhachar accused the government of blocking meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, his sisters, and other party leaders despite court orders, alleging these actions were attempts to spread anarchy. He described the treatment of PTI as "the greatest injustice in history" and declared the government’s solar program a failure, citing the inclusion of only three companies. On the wheat crisis, he claimed the government had "tied the hands of farmers," forcing Punjab to import wheat.

Addressing newly proposed canal projects, Bhachar challenged Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to advocate for Punjab’s water rights if he truly cared about public welfare, warning that the burden of water scarcity would fall on Punjab, reducing availability per acre. He demanded the Chief Minister personally address objections to the canal plans instead of relying on Azma Bukhari.

Bhachar warned that PTI would stage protests if Imran Khan’s sisters were denied meetings with him in Adiala Jail. He claimed even PML-N lawmakers were "weeping over their own government’s actions" and issued a 48-hour ultimatum to restore facilities, threatening a no-confidence motion if unmet. Criticizing dynastic politics as a "dead corpse," he asserted PTI’s solidarity with farmers, vowing to rally on streets with wheat-laden trolleys.
