Lahore: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan conferred Tamgha Khidmat on Dr. Dereje Wordofa, President of SOS Children’s Villages International, on behalf of the President of Pakistan, in a solemn ceremony held here at Governor House Lahore today. The medal has been given to Dereje Wordofa in honor of his services to the helpless children of SOS Children and for welfare work.

 

On this occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan paid tributes to the social services of Dr. Dereje Wordofa, President of SOS Children’s Villages International, and said that those who dedicate their lives to humanity are great. He said that those who do welfare work should be encouraged at all levels without discrimination. He said that all sections of society should prioritize the national interest above personal interests. The dignified ceremony was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Ahmed Raza Sarwar, Principal Secretary to Governor Punjab Captain (retd) Saqib Zafar, government officers and members of civil society.
