In a series of engagements with journalist community in Lahore, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi demonstrated exactly why effective governance demands not only vision but also hands-on resolve. By calling on the federal government to honour the CCI’s consensus and refrain from stoking fresh grievances in Sindh, Governor Kundi reaffirmed his belief that fair and transparent water distribution is essential to the unity and stability of our federation. His urgent warning—that any further controversy over the Indus and its canals risks sparking new conflicts—echoes the hard-won lessons of past water-rights battles led by leaders such as Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

At the same time, Governor Kundi refused to shy away from hard truths closer to home. He highlighted the shocking neglect of basic infrastructure—citing the 25-kilometre road in Kurram still blocked by militants as a stark example of administrative failure. His call for a full investigation into worsening security incidents throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the former tribal districts signalled that public safety must never be taken for granted.

Moreover, his meeting with Engineer Akhtar Mehmood Khattak and the Pakistan Railways Retired Employees Association brought the challenges of District Karak into sharp focus: from the long-promised Sui gas connection for Palosa Sar to the new Karak–Kalabagh road route, and the welfare of retired railway staff. By inviting the delegation to Karak and assuring them of “every possible support,” Governor Kundi made clear that development projects and social justice go hand-in-hand.
