Member of the National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar met with Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday at Bilawal House. The two leaders discussed the contentious canal projects and reiterated the party’s firm stance on protecting provincial water rights.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s positive decision on the disputed canals, saying it “deserves appreciation and will help safeguard the interests of provincial populations and farmers.” He emphasized that the PPP “will not agree to any compromise that undermines the rights of the people.”
Syed Naveed Qamar lauded the party’s unity under Bilawal’s leadership and expressed hope that the Council of Common Interests (CCI) “will deliver decisions in full accordance with the expectations of the people and ensure a sustainable resolution of Sindh’s water issues.”
Both leaders reiterated that should the CCI fail to represent the public’s aspirations, the PPP “will stand firmly alongside the people.” They underscored that genuine federal strength and national development depend on cooperative partnership among all provinces.
In conclusion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Syed Naveed Qamar reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining party solidarity and continuing to advocate vigorously for the protection of citizens’ rights.
