Condemnation Resolution Submitted in Punjab Assembly Against Indian Water Aggression
Lahore: A condemnation resolution has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly against India's water aggression and its unilateral move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. The resolution was tabled by member provincial assembly PML-N Hina Parvez Butt.
According to the text of the resolution, the House strongly condemns India’s attempt to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, which was brokered with the mediation of the World Bank. It asserts that India has no authority to unilaterally revoke or suspend an internationally recognized agreement. The resolution further states that India is using the Pulwama incident as a pretext to commit water aggression, which is deemed unacceptable. Pakistan is a responsible and sovereign state that will not compromise on its national integrity and sovereignty.
The resolution warns that if India attempts any intrusion into Pakistani territory, the Pakistan Army will deliver a strong and befitting response. The House also reaffirmed its full support and solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan in safeguarding the nation.
